This is a sample email! You will be emailed for your week(s) of camp Thursday or Friday the week before you are registered.

Sample Weekly email:
Aloha!

We are very excited about our first week of camp this summer!   This email is going to everyone who has campers at camp this week!  If you don't remember or want to see the exact days or program you signed your camper up for, search your email for 'squarespace'.

Here is all the information you need to prepare and help camps run smoothly!  Please read this email completely and ask questions if you have any!  Helping your camper have an amazing, fun and safe week is our highest priority!   Every week our mission is that all campers, staff and volunteers go home HAPPY!!!

Kealakehe Elementary School Upper Field (north entrance)

74-5118 Kealakaa St, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740

(All of our camps are full this week - here is the link to camps and classes https://www.ohanamartialarts.org/tuition)

This email is going to everyone - if you paid for extended day passes you will also receive an email separately that explains your times - this email has the times for the regular camp day. If you didn't pay for extended day passes but need some the link is here https://www.ohanamartialarts.org/tuition/extendeddaycamp2024.  If you sign up for Extended day after Sunday please also send a text so we are alerted to your purchase.

The Regular Camp Day ends at 2 - please arrive between 1:50- 2 to pick up your camper!  Our staff needs time to clean up and transition and only extended day campers should remain on the field after 2pm. Thank you for your cooperation!

Drop Off - After 8am you can drive into the North Parking Lot above our field and park in a designated parking spot (please do not park on the left and walk across as it's hard for cars backing out to see you). Please walk your camper down to the check in Table/Area and let the staff know who will be picking your camper up.  We will start our day with a dance party each morning around 9am. If arriving after 9 you can walk your camper down to find a coach to check in with. We are the camp under the shelter right at the bottom of the ramp.

Pick Up - Please give yourself enough time with traffic to not be late.  Should your pick up person change or if there is an emergency please text the director at 808-494-2346 (no calls please, it is much easier to handle text communication while on the field). Persistent late pick up is grounds for removal from camp for the summer. Mahalo for your cooperation.

  • All campers

    • Should be in comfortable athletic clothing and tennis shoes - playing running games in slippers and sandals is difficult for the campers (campers with slippers or flip flops will not be able to participate in kicking sports like soccer due to safety). Sending a pair of slippers in their bag for rest periods or if their feet get wet is not a bad idea (Please don't send your camper in cleats, they can have cleats and shin guards in their bag and we will let them know if there is an appropriate time to use them). If skirts are worn they should be easy to run in and have shorts under them.

    • Have on sunscreen and have some with them.

    • Bring 2 medium waters, lunch and snacks (extended day kids please bring a bit extra so they have a little snack in am and pm).

    • If they would like you can pack a towel for them to sit on in the shelter. We ask that you NOT pack beach or camping chairs, they tend to squish fingers, take up too much space and cause problems - towels or mats are much better.

    • Please put your child's name on everything you send to camp - sunscreen, jackets, water bottles... as it is much easier to find the owners when there are names. And trust us - there will be a lost and found!! :)

    • Bring a great attitude and be ready to participate!

    • We do have a shelter for emergency rain cover, but do still do some activities in the rain (especially the older sports group), so packing a rain coat is not a bad idea (put a name on it though!).

'Ohana Store - New this summer - On Fridays at drop off and pick up we will set up an 'Ohana Store with our shirts, gear and croc charms that are coming.  Our 'Ohana Racing team is gearing up this year to do Spartan Oahu and an Adventure race in Tasmania - Proceeds from our store sales will go towards these trips.  We will still be giving out shirts and items at our dance party some morning as well!

Illness Policy: Campers with signs of active illness cannot be at camp.  We will call the number(s) you wrote in the waiver to pick up campers who become ill at camp.  Thank you for your help in limiting germ spread this summer.  Please have a plan of who will be able to pick your camper up should the need arise.

If you have any questions please reach out! Looking forward to a very fun summer with your campers!

Mahalo for entrusting us with your keiki and helping camp run smoothly! Your cooperation helps to keep our campers and staff safe! Please let us know if you have any questions at all! See you soon!!
